GESPA: Success in Applied Researches

In 2012 Tartu Health Care College started a applied research “Assessment of the 3-month effect of support taping aid to correcting 5- to 8-year-olds’ genu valgum and longitudinal foot arch”. Since 2015 belongs a patentable invention “Mehhanoterapic device and method for measuring” to Tartu Health Care College and University of Tartu  which was created during the reasearch process, authors are Arved Vain, Reet Linkberg, Ivi Vaher and Anna-Liisa Tamm. Invention Patent Priority no : 1403692.5.

On this subject also THCC`s students have done three final papers:

  1. Luukas, M-L. (2013). Impact of wearing supportive elastic garment to 5-7-year-olds’ genu valum in lower limbs.
  2. Pielberg, M. (2013). Effect of using garment with pressure and elastic components to muscles in correcting genu valgum in 5-7-year-olds.
  3. Laanesaar, L., Nigulas, E. (2015). Possibility of using garment with elastic straps and pressure applicator in mechanotherapy to correct pre-school children’s genu valgum.
    E. Nigulas and L. Laanesaar were awerded in ENPHE Thesis Award with honorable second place with their thesis “Possibility of using garment with elastic straps and pressure applicator (GESPA) in mechanotherapy to correct preschool children`s genu valgum“.

The applied research “Assessment of the 3-month effect of support taping aid to correcting 5- to 8-year-olds’ genu valgum and longitudinal foot arch” is going to be end in 2018 and is led by Anna-Liisa Tamm (PhD).
