Acute Team in Youth Psychiatric Services Targeted to the Residental Child Care (ACUCARE)

The project is coordinated
by Turku University of Applied Sciences Ltd. Partners are Tartu Health Care College, University of Tartu, Merikratos Oy, City of Tartu Department of Social Welfare, Tartu University Clinics, Psychiatry Clinic, Child and adolescent mental health Enter and Hospital District of Southwest Finland (Division of Psychiatry).

The overall objective of ACUCARE is to develop a common e-course in order to develop more aligned VET programmes for nurses and social workers and social educators. Objective also contributes to the development and further integration of the joint CB health and social care labour market by aligning the competence level of professionals. ACUCARE project is developing skills and professional competencies of health care workers and social workers/social educators. It enhances a decrease of social exclusion of vulnerable families and children living in residential child care settings by ensuring mental health services delivered timely.

The project’s main result is a new 10 (5+5) ECTS interprofessional vocational training e-course, including e-learning materials and an e-curriculum manual for the use of different VET organisations. The e-course consists of two themes:

1) family work in ‘open care’ (5 ECTS)

2) residential child care in foster care (5 ECTS).
